Reporting a wrong figure

Corrections are the most useful mail this site gets. To make one quick to verify, include:

• the page address (the "Copy link to this result" button captures your inputs);
• the figure you expected and where it comes from — an SSA page, a statute, a regulation, an IRS notice or publication;
• the year or month the figure applies to.

Confirmed corrections are applied to the data file and listed on the corrections page.

Questions about your own situation

Retirematics cannot answer questions about your individual situation and does not give financial or tax advice. For Social Security questions the SSA is the authority; for the tax treatment of a distribution, a CPA or enrolled agent; for the decision itself, a fee-only adviser.

Advertising and partnerships

Display advertising, when it starts, will be served through Google AdSense. Direct partnership inquiries can go to the same address; the site does not sell leads.

Response time

Data-correction reports are usually answered within a few days. Other mail may take longer.
